[ ". . . We are Episcopal clergy and spouses who have gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender children, siblings and other family members, including spouses. We want to begin by expressing our deep gratitude for your leadership, courage and sacrifice during this most difficult time in our church. You are continually in our prayers.
We are writing to you because in all the discussions taking place across the Anglican Communion, we have noted the absence of family voices. This is particularly notable, given the fact that approximately one in five straight people in the church—and throughout humanity—has a family member who is not heterosexual.
We believe that the experiences of the families of glbt people are particularly relevant today, as the Episcopal Church begins to prepare its presentation to the ACC in June. We have learned a great deal as families, and we think we can be useful to the church family at this time. We want to offer our help..."]
