Job Overview:

The MLP Associate Director for Marketing and Development will be responsible creating and implementing a marketing and communications plan, developing financial resources to support the mission and work of More Light Presbyterians and for coordinating the day-to-day administrative operations of More Light Presbyterians.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Create a marketing and communications plan
  • Strengthen marketing communications and relationships with media
  • Create a development plan
  • Develop and implement fundraising strategies
  • Create and develop relationships with donors, foundations and grant-making agencies
  • Communicate with and empower grassroots leaders and groups
  • Manage database systems for board and staff
  • Provide administrative support to Executive Director and Board

Required Skills and Knowledge:

  • Two years experience in marketing, development and fundraising for non-profit organizations, agencies or corporations
  • Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong administrative and organization skills
  • Ability to manage production of electronic and print communications
  • Ability to network and build positive relationships with donors, foundations and grant-making agencies
  • Working knowledge of donor management systems, MSOffice and website management
  • Understanding of and commitment to LGBT justice and equality
  • Knowledge of the Presbyterian Church (USA) helpful
  • Sense of humor extremely helpful

Compensation:

$40,000 annually plus benefit package.
